The K’asho Got’ı̨nę Housing Society (KGHS) offers programs that help residents of Rádeyı̨lı̨ Kǫ́ (Fort Good Hope) build stability, skills, and self-sufficiency. From supportive housing and home repairs to trades training and pathways to ownership, our services work together to create safe, sustainable homes and strong community connections.

KGHS’s Kádúyí́le Program provides hopeful and supportive housing for men, women, and families. Our approach is compassionate, culturally aware, and focused on helping residents build stability, skills, and confidence.
The Kádúyí́le Men’s Transition Home is a four-bedroom house with shared spaces including a kitchen, dining room, lounge, study area, laundry, and an on-site staff office. Bedrooms are private; common areas are shared and cared for by everyone.

Support for repairs and maintenance of privately owned homes is one of our key priorities.
KGHS is developing programs that make it easier for Fort Good Hope homeowners to repair, maintain, and protect their homes.
If you own your home and are not eligible for Housing NWT support, KGHS may be able to assist. Our program connects residents with skilled labour, materials, and financial assistance for essential home repairs.
Register your home at the KGHS office in Fort Good Hope.
You’ll be added to our homeowner registry.
When repair funding becomes available, KGHS will contact you about eligibility.
Each year, KGHS focuses on specific repair areas such as roofing, windows, or insulation to reduce costs and build local expertise.

KGHS can coordinate emergency repairs that pose immediate health or safety risks, such as:
Frozen sewer tanks or lines
No-heat situations
Other critical housing issues
(Emergency repairs are offered in partnership with Housing NWT and may depend on available resources.)
In partnership with Housing NWT, KGHS completes annual preventative maintenance for registered homes, identifying and addressing small issues before they become costly problems.
The K’asho Got’ı̨nę Housing Society supports residents in gaining the skills and certification needed to become certified construction tradespeople. These programs empower community members, strengthen the local economy, and reduce reliance on outside contractors.
KGHS partners with Aurora College and Chief T’Selehye School to deliver hands-on training and education that prepare residents for work in construction, maintenance, and technical trades.

In 2022, KGHS partnered with Aurora College and Chief T’Selehye School to send eight students to Fort Smith for a week of hands-on trade exploration alongside peers from across the North.
KGHS aims to create a local network of skilled tradespeople capable of managing construction, maintenance, and repair projects within Fort Good Hope — building a strong, self-reliant community.
Fort Good Hope has one of the highest rates of private homeownership in the Northwest Territories, reflecting the community’s independence and resilience. KGHS is working to expand these opportunities through affordable housing development and pathways to ownership.
